ENGCOMP team raises money for breast cancer
research, education and awareness
Four members of the ENGCOMP team, Laurie Hnetka,
Joanna Usselman, Michelle Therrien, and Jennifer Wagner, formed
a team called Breast Friends With Wings for the CIBC Run for the
Cure held on October 5, 2008.
They were able to raise $918 to be used in
funding breast cancer research, education and awareness programs.
Next year they plan to participate again with
hopes of reaching a higher goal and recruiting a larger team.
Along with Laurie, Jo, Michelle and Jen other
team members that joined their efforts were Barb Schindelka (friend
of Jen), Sheila Schindelka (friend of Jen) and Doreen Bradford
(mother of Jo).
The event was held at the Saskatoon Field House and even though
the weather was rainy, everyone was there with smiles on and enjoyed
themselves for the 5km walk.
In total, the CIBC Run for the Cure raised $28.5 million. For
