ENGCOMP rows for Heart and Stroke Foundation
With the goal of raising money for the Heart
and Stroke Foundation, ENGCOMP's 22 member team, Nautical Disaster,
participated in the 2009 Saskatoon Dragon Boat Festival. Staff
and volunteers canvassed for pledges and hosted Barbeques to raise
$1,143 for the charity.
ENGCOMP's President Jason Mewis praised the
efforts of the team and staff saying he was impressed with the
level of fundraising they were able to secure.
"For our first year as part of the Dragon
Boat Festival, ENGCOMP did especially well matching the level
of fundraising of some of the province's largest companies.
It's good to know that our efforts will give back to the community,
as all money raised will stay in Saskatchewan to help the Heart
and Stroke Foundation."
ENGCOMP plans to make the Festival an annual
event. Learn more about the Saskatoon Dragon Boat Festival on
